HomeBuddies is locally owned and operated in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area and a proud member of the International Nanny Association as well as the American Childcare Association. We stand out from other similar agencies by leaving the job description up to the family. We will help you develop the description, but it is completely up to you to decide what duties you need help with in your home.  We realize every family is different and has different needs. Do you need a nanny that can cook too? A Personal Chef that will pick the kids up from school? A housekeeper that is willing to do major organizational projects? We can find you full time or part time help, split shifts, odd hours or on-call. We are willing to find the HomeBuddy that fits with your family's needs.
Origin and Qualifications Of Those Registering With HomeBuddies
Many of the people who register for employment with our Agency do so on their own initiative, while others are acquired through special searches. The usual age range is 18-50 years, with 20-25 years being the most common. We encourage people of all ages over 18 to register.
All HomeBuddies:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Complete an orientation class provided by HomeBuddies staff.
- Have at least 2 years experience in a related area of work
- Are thoroughly interviewed, screened, references are checked, criminal background checks are performed and DMV records obtained
- Many of our professional domestic applicants possess advanced training,
state teaching certificates, Early Childhood Development training and other related degrees.
HomeBuddies that perform Childcare Duties:
- Are certified in infant/child CPR and First Aid
- Have at least 2 years previous childcare, teaching or nursing experience
Who Chooses The Applicant That Will Work For Me?
You select the HomeBuddies applicant you’d like to work with for our Long-Term and Temporary referrals. Your selection is permanent unless you request a replacement. You negotiate salary directly with applicant. You pay HomeBuddies Agency a referral fee only. You pay employee directly for their services and negotiate solely with them. HomeBuddies Agency provides receipt for referral fee only.
For HB Sitters and On-Call Domestic Services, HomeBuddies will choose the person who will work for you.
